Starting Wednesday, The Farm Club’s hockey section will be running a list of the 18 greatest Buffalo Sabres of all-time.  Why 18? Because it’s my list and I’ll do with it what I want.  That and I just felt bored with top 20/25 lists and wanted to cut it off at 18.  Not only that, but for me (a relatively young Sabres fan) it got a bit dicey around the end of the list because I wasn’t alive when a good chunk of these guys were playing,  so I’m not sure I could really comment further than I did.

Over the next nine weeks, we’ll be running additions to the list every Wednesday and Friday so you’ll have twice every week (at least) to call me an idiot and tell me who you think should or shouldn’t be on the list.

Here’s the schedule:

#18 — Mike Foligno
#17 — Jim Schoenfeld
#16 — Thomas Vanek
#15 — Mike Ramsey
#14 — Michael Peca
#13 — Don Luce
#12 — Danny Gare
#11 — Ryan Miller
#10 — Pierre Turgeon
#9 — Dave Andreychuk
#8 — Dale Hawerchuk
#7 — Rene Robert
#6 — Phil Housley
#5 — Rick Martin
#4 — Alexander Mogilny
#3 — Pat Lafontaine
#2 — Dominik Hasek
#1 — Gilbert Perreault

Danny Gare is WAY too low on this list. No way #3 6 8 9 10 11 are ahead of him. No way.

And Vanek ahead of Jim Schoenfeld…. please….
